Growing up Drug-Free

the next lesson of the Lion-s Quest Program takes us to a positive preventive framework intended to promote protective factors in kids; specifically on helping them know the facts about drug, alcohol and tobacco abuse, as well as to gain attitudes and skills that will help them to say "no" to negative pressure.

The emphasis in the lower grades (1-2) is on teaching students the wonderfulness of our bodies, the difference between unhealthy and healthy habits, how to stay safe when they find an unknown substance and the importance to look for a trusted adult when they need help.

In grades 3-5, kids will understand the effects of drug use on growing young bodies and minds. The focus on this matter is to develop the skills and attitudes to reject drug use.
